The Amica Group has launched an ambitious project aimed at introducing a new technology for marking induction hobs. The project was supported by the National Centre for Research and Development and ended in success, introducing a completely new technology to the market of household appliance manufacturers.

The initiative was intended to solve the problem of managing the supply of ceramic glass for the production of induction hobs. The undertaking encountered difficulties related to the variety of hob models, long order lead times and high minimum order quantities, which limited the response to changing market demand.

To solve these challenges, Amica decided to abandon the standard marking technology in favor of innovative digital printing (InkJet). After three years of work, the production line is fully automated. Thanks to this, Amica can now source only 30 models of clean ceramic glass and perform all printing in-house.

The new technology allows the preparation time for a new design to be shortened from 4 weeks to just 4 hours. With a production capacity of 165 pieces per hour, Amica can currently produce up to 3,600 pieces per day, which is almost 800,000 pieces per year.

The new technology fits perfectly into the concept of Industry 4.0, which assumes the harmonious integration of intelligent machines, systems and effective methods of modifying production processes. The goal is to achieve excellent efficiency through a balanced combination of these elements.

- In today's digital world, the ideas of Industry 4.0 are of great importance for changes in production methods. Thanks to them, we can not only work more efficiently, but also more flexibly adapt to individual customer needs. Industry 4.0 opens the door to dynamic, sustainable and personalized development of industry - says Robert Stobiński, First Vice President of the Management Board for Operations.

The benefits of using this modern technology include reduced inventory, increased production flexibility, rapid response to customer needs, and the ability to introduce new design trends and automate processes. Integration of all line devices into one control system enables two-way communication of elements, ensuring efficiency and consistency of the process.

Modern technological solutions are key to transforming the industry in the digital world, opening up new opportunities for increased efficiency, flexibility and innovation.
